But do not be fooled: this attractive leisure vehicle is also a hard worker, and can handle a one-tonne load with ease. To help you secure your load, whether it’s the weekend’s camping or mountain biking gear, the Steed 5 comes with several tie-down points. Double insulation protects the load bin against the heaviest loads you can throw its way.

The Steed 5 Double Cab is offered with a range of two engines, catering for a wide variety of needs. The entry level model is powered by GWM’s proven 2,2-litre petrol engine that develops 73 kW and 180 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. The combined-cycle fuel consumption figure for this model is an economical 10,2 L/100 km.

And last, but not least, is GWM’s very popular and in-house developed 2,0-litre VGT (variable geometry turbo) diesel power plant that punches out a strong 110 kW and 320 Nm of torque. This engine is exclusively mated with a six-speed manual transmission and the 2,0-litre VGT engine boasts exceptionally low fuel consumption of only 8,3 L/100 km.
